We will reach out pre-retreat to assess any mobility concerns and available to discuss any questions related to the practice.

You are responsible for arranging your airport travel! While it is not included in the pricing, we are happy to help arrange an airport transfer from Guayaquil.
As you will have free time in the afternoons, lunch is not included in our food & beverage program. Coffee and tea will be served before our morning sessions & during breakfast. Our dinners will be curated family-style shared dining experiences, and any beverages can be purchased a la carte.
There will be lots of opportunities for optional excursions & add-ons, so you can really customize your retreat experience.
As everyone’s surf level will vary, lessons & board rentals are also priced separately.

There are so many cool coastal towns dotting the coastline — you can meet the famous blue footed boobies on an Isla de la Plata day tour; you can try snorkeling or parasailing; you can go horseback riding through the jungle to the nearby waterfalls.
Massages, Reiki, private yoga sessions, and sound ceremonies are all optional add-ons. The concierge team will handle the details, so you can just explore & restore.
-
Nope! Ecuador is on the US dollar. We just recommend bringing some cash & stocking up on smaller bills.
-
It is not necessary to rent a car for this trip. Montañita is very walkable, the hotel offers free bike rentals, & private taxis are easy to call & reliable. There is accessible public transit connecting the beach towns if you’d like to adventure along the coast. However, if you decide to rent a car, there is parking on site at the hotel! We will connect the group before the retreat, if you’d like to coordinate any shared transportation at your discretion.
-
Yes! Before the retreat, you’ll confirm any dietary preferences or restrictions, which we will communicate with our onsite culinary partners. Brunches will be vegetarian & prepared by the hotel team. Dinners will be family-style, ideal for sharing & trying lots of new dishes!
-
Absolutely! Just let us know. We will collect an initial non-refundable deposit, and can coordinate a payment schedule for the remaining balance.

Integrating her restaurant & hotel industry expertise with her passion for travel & yoga, Devon founded the Grounded Nomad Co. to curate events & retreats that fuse mindfulness practices and shared dining experiences to cultivate presence, connection, and ease. Her approach is rooted in a holistic hospitality framework, as she believes thoughtfully designed gatherings can make anywhere feel like home.
Devon first visited Ecuador during her study abroad program; her research explored how tourism was impacting local quality of life & development outcomes on the coast. She fell completely in love with Montañita and returned to complete her yoga teacher training here in 2022. She is so honored to have the opportunity to share the magic & energy of La Punta with you!
